Asbestos

Asbestos can be found in many different types of materials and structures. The most common buildings containing asbestos are built before 1980. They include homes, office buildings, commercial buildings, industrial plants, hospitals, schools, and government facilities. An environmental assessment must be done to determine if you do have materials containing asbestos. To ensure accuracy, environmental assessments need to be performed by a certified asbestos inspector or lab. Once it is determined that there is material containing asbestos, you will want to contact a contractor that is licensed to abate the asbestos. Ecometrex is that contractor. Ecometrex specializes in asbestos abatement projects and can handle all types and sizes of asbestos projects.

Asbestos Exposures
There is not a level of exposure to asbestos that is considered to be safe. Breathing asbestos fibers is dangerous to your health and can even lead to death. Generally, a person is exposed to asbestos by inhaling the asbestos fibers into the lungs. Asbestos exposure can lead to asbestosis (white lung), lung cancer, mesothelioma and other types of cancers of the digestive system. Because of the seriousness of the exposures it is imperative to accurately abate or remove the asbestos from the structure.
